Frequency Asked Questions

What are the distance limitations of filming with Drones?

Our drones must stay within VLOS (visual line of sight) of the pilot. We can climb up to 200m as well.

How close can drones get?

50m from a Person, building or Vehicle not in the control of the pilot. 30m when landing/taking off

150m of a congested Area (we are currently working on our CAOSC and hope to have this available soon.

150m from an open air event of more that 1,000 persons

What is the flying time of the Drones?

This depends on the Drone and camera used! The M600 with the X5R can flying upto 30 minutes. The M600 fully loaded with the Ronin MX and Red camera will be about 8 minutes. The Inspire with X5R is about 16 minutes.

What permissions do we need to film with drones?

We need to have the land owners permission for a taking off position. Areas with an Air space restriction zone require us to control ATC. This may take a couple of days to organise. In congested areas it may take longer.

Can we film at Night?

Our drones can film 30 minutes before sunrise and 30 minutes after sunset. We are currently working on getting our nighttime flying status.

How does the Weather effect filming with Drones?

Our Drones have wind limitations - it is best to check with us as to how much as each drone is different. We cannot fly in the rain. We will advise you as to the weather leading up to the job.

Can we film overseas?

We are insured in most countries around the world. There are several countries we cannot due to their air space laws but we can work with you on this.
